Every piece matters — Ephesians 4:1-13

Object lesson:
– give all the students a piece of a puzzle and have them come up to table set up at the front of the room and work the puzzle together

Debrief:
– what did you learn from this activity?

Lesson: (teaching outline)
1. Every piece matters
-no matter the location, size, color, and of shape

2. Every piece serves a purpose
-while we don’t always see the big picture, our contribution adds to the whole

3. Every piece has been uniquely crafted
-Psalm 139 reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made
-God doesn’t make junk
-you are crafted by God, with his love and artistry

When I read Ephesians 4,I can’t help but to think of a puzzle being pieced together:
-pieces of Paul’s puzzle in Eph 4:1-13

1.) Eph 4:1 live a life worthy of the calling you have received
Life isn’t about us or our likes, our wants, wishes.
It is first and foremost about God

2.) how we treat others matters 4:2-6
The church is an assembly of the beautifully broken
We are imperfect and yet redeemed
How we treat one another lets the world know who we belong too -Jn. 13:34-35

3) 4:11-12we all make unique contribution in the life of the church
SHAPE
Spiritual gifted ness
Heart
Ability
Personality
Experience
