Communion Meditation from this morning…

Psalm 46:1-11

We are reminded in many ways that the world is not as it should be. Especially when tragedies like what happened Friday in Newtown, CT.

The world is broken
Our hearts are heavy

The world is not as it should be. But God isn’t done with us yet.

He still reigns and the story of Jesus is Gods plan to redeem the world. We get to be a part of that story, of how God is working in the world.

Tragedies remind us how fragile life is

The broken bread and cup remind us of a God who is not unfamilar with our brokenness

He enters fully into it…to redeem it. To rescue it, to renew it.

We can break bread and drink this cup this morning with hope because of Christ’s victory over darkness and sin.

When darkness seemed to prevail, a stone was rolled away and grave clothes were folded. A tomb is empty!

We break bread and drink the cup this morning clinging to the finished work of the cross and yet realizing God is still on the move reclaiming the earth for his glory!

Shall we pray!
